Sarah Satrom received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Baylor University in 2001. Following graduation, she was employed as a research assistant for the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in both central Texas and Houston, working with a variety of populations including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. She also worked in a geriatric psychiatry setting with patients who had been diagnosed with emphysema and depression. This led to her interest in aging and pursuing her master’s degree in clinical psychology, which she completed at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2007. During her clinical training, she worked at the CU Aging Center, providing therapeutic counseling to caregivers as well as performing neuropsychological evaluations for individuals in order to identify cognitive decline related to dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or head injury. Sarah is currently working as the team leader for the CU Aging Center’s Memory Clinic in addition to her position with the Palisades project in which she assists with development, marketing, and assessment. Upon opening, Sarah looks forward to working one-on-one with Palisades residents and helping to make their lives enriched and fulfilling. In her free time, Sarah enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, camping, skiing, and spending time with friends. Brandon, her husband of four years, and dog Abby also enjoy spending time with her in beautiful Colorado.
