Leilani FelicianoLeilani Feliciano, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who came to the Department of Psychology at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2007 to teach graduate courses in the psychology of aging and introductory clinical skills, conduct research in aging, and to supervise clinical students in a primary care setting. Specific areas of interest include late-life depression, anxiety, and behavioral problems associated with dementia. Dr. Feliciano has spent the last 8 years developing care plans that assist older adults and their families make small changes in their environments or support behavior change to help them to maintain the highest quality of life possible. She looks forward to applying this knowledge to support residents and staff at The Palisades.

Dr. Feliciano grew up in a small town in Northern California and earned her Ph.D. in clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2005. Afterwards, she completed a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. This research fellowship focused on developing partnerships with community agencies and research with underserved populations including minorities and older adults. She has thrived since moving to Colorado Springs, making use of the natural resources - enjoying the mountain air, hiking, tennis, and spending time with her husband, Nathan, and her two cats, Miss Kitty and Cosmo.
